Darrell Johnson

CEO

Darrell joined the energy industry in 1984 and has a wealth of operational and commercial experience in drilling contracting, oilfield services, and exploration and production (E&P) operations. Throughout his career, Darrel has been committed to introducing new technologies that enhance performance – from managed pressure drilling to artificial lift, including Silverwell’s DIAL technology. Darrell is adaptable and versatile, with vast experience working in key energy locations including West Africa, Nigeria, the UK, and The Netherlands. He has also served in advisory and directorship roles for professional societies and charitable organizations.

Gerard Patterson

Chief Operating Officer

Gerry joined Silverwell having already established a successful reputation through senior positions with major oilfield service providers. Starting out as an openhole wireline engineer in northern Canada, he moved on to product development roles in software engineering, mechanical engineering, and project management. Prior to joining Silverwell, he served as Vice President of Engineering for a firm developing well decommissioning technologies with lasers. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alberta.

Diane Fraser

Chief Financial Officer

Diane trained as an accountant in Edinburgh before joining Marconi Defence Systems and Vickers. Work in banking and the public sector followed before joined the upstream industry with Cairn Energy and most notably as Finance Director with Melrose Resources. Diane has specialized in raising finance as well as the development and co-ordination of finance teams across multi-national sites. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Rafael Bastardo

Global Vice President of Sales

Rafael has over 13 years’ experience in successfully driving sales growth in the oil and gas industry, including developing a disciplined sales team. His core competencies include technical sales, business analytics, sales process improvement, and customer relationship management. He has a Master's degree in Business Analytics and Big Data and deploys data-driven insights and tools to optimize sales performance, identify new opportunities, and solve complex challenges. Rafael is passionate about delivering value to clients, enhancing operational efficiency, and learning new skills.

Abdel BenAmara

Vice President, Eastern Hemisphere

Abdel joined Silverwell in 2015 to boost business growth in the Middle East and Asia. Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, his career began in the automotive industry before joining an artificial lift equipment manufacturer in 2005. He holds Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from ENIM, France, and Bristol University, UK, and is an active and published member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, sitting on the SPE Middle East Artificial Lift Conference Committee.

Ahmed Jasser

Vice President, Western Hemisphere

Ahmed joined Silverwell in 2025 as VP of Wester Hemisphere responsible for operations, business development and sales in North and South America. Ahmed comes with over 20 years of experience in business development, engineering and operations in intelligent completions. He worked for major service companies in the Middles East and North America with 2 patents issued for completions products.

Carlos Herrera

Vice President of Manufacturing

Throughout his career, Carlos has held leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies, managing multicultural teams and overseeing international operations. Mechanical Engineering graduate with an MBA, he has more than two decades of experience driving operational excellence, growth strategies, and development of manufacturing facilities. He has successfully led initiatives from conceptual design through full-scale project startups. His background in Lean methodologies and quality assurance has been key to deliver efficient, and solid projects execution in the dynamic energy sector.

Greg Marshall

Director of Engineering

Greg joined Silverwell in 2019 as Chief Mechanical Engineer and was promoted to Director of Engineering last year. He has worked for oilfield services providers of all sizes including several major international companies. Greg’s career has included roles in product development for intervention tools, intelligent completion tools, and downhole and subsea fiber optic/electrical connectors, with nine patents issued across various product lines.
